How does it work and why should you have one?
Houses have foundations, which are usually buried deep in the ground. Rainwater and Groundwater encompass the foundation causing the foundation to fail if untreated. A perforated drain pipe also known as Drain Tile is installed on the outside perimeter of the foundation's footing. A sock surrounds the perforated drain pipe filtering or preventing debris from entering the pipe. The perforated drain pipe is embedded in gravel allowing the groundwater and rainwater to enter it without dirt getting in. The perforated drain pipe connects to a reservoir inside the house called a sump pump pit. The sump pump pit collects all of the water from the ground and rain which surrounds the foundation of the building. The Sump Pump pumps the water outside into the grass or a bubbler system, keeping the foundation dry and preventing deterioration of the foundation.
In some cases, you may want either a second sump pump, depending on your home and the water table surrounding your home and. how wet it may be throughout the year. In other cases, you may just need a battery backup system.
